LINDA S. GROEZINGER has been practicing family law in Central Illinois since 1999. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1996 and her Bachelor’s Degree in International Diplomatic Relations Individualized Major Program from Bradley University in 1992. Before that, she obtained her Associate in Arts and Sciences from Illinois Central College. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois.  Linda concentrates her practice in family, juvenile, and traffic law matters and has both the personal as well as the professional experience to handle your case.

In law school, Linda was the President of the International Law Society and had the honor of being named by the Dean as the Regional Administrator of the Jessup International Moot Court Competition when Northern Illinois University College of Law acted as the host of the event. Linda was also honored to be the recipient of the Northern Illinois University Outstanding Woman Award. Linda earned an Honor’s Transfer Scholarship from ICC to Bradley as was named to the Dean’s List.

Linda was born and raised in the East Bluff in Peoria, attending Glen Oak Grade School from K-8. She then attended Woodruff High School in 1976-77 before moving to rural Dunlap so her father, a physicist at CAT, could install his 75-foot-tall Ham radio antenna. There, she attended Dunlap High School and graduated in 1980. Her senior year, Linda became ill with mononucleosis and was unable to attend college straight out of high school. She first worked at a local gas station before becoming a deli clerk at Kroger. Once at Kroger, she achieved the position of Head Cheese Shoppe Hostess in less than 1.5 years. She married and they had one daughter, Stephanie. She then resigned her position as she determined it was time to complete her college education, with the goal of becoming a lawyer.

In addition to practicing law, Linda is also a certified Guardian ad Litem and has been appointed to cases privately as well as by the courts. Linda has previously been an associate public defender in Peoria County, first for approximately 6 years in abuse and neglect court and then for 2 years in misdemeanor court handling misdemeanor, felony & domestic violence cases, both while maintaining a private practice. From 1999 to 2004, she was half of the legal duo of Lowe & Groezinger, P.C. From 2011 to 2013, Linda was also half owner of Pitcher’s Bar & Grill.

In her private life, Linda is a mother to a beautiful daughter, a grandmother to two grandchildren she adores. She also cares for her elderly mother and her German Shepherd dog, Cody. Linda is also a member of the Peoria Astronomical Society, and under any clear sky night you will find her imaging the wonders of our universe, from the Milky Way to nebulae to galaxies.

Linda obtained her first computer in 1989 and is well-versed in technology. To that end, she started scanning all of her cases/documents back in 2004 and developed her own case management system.  Today, she relies on My Case Legal Software to manage communications with clients, billing, calendaring, and practice management. At Linda S. Groezinger, Attorney at Law, you will receive personal service and direct communication with Linda. When you hire Linda to represent you, you become part of the team.
